Town Planners make some strange decisions
Just outside the centre of Annan there are a number of smart new housing developments near the river. Meanwhile in the centre much of what must once have been very nice working and middle class housing and commercial premises are falling into disrepair. The town is no longer the prosperous place of Georgian times and really shows is age and a lack of care. Many building are tatty and unkempt, and footpaths are spoiled with weeds giving the town a down at heel appearance. House prices are very low. You buy a 5 bedroom mid-terraced Georgian town house for £155k. Allowing the new developments has allowed the centre of what could be a beautiful little town to be neglected.
